Meta Blog

Today is the day that I shall post a final post, and then again, my readers; it is the way in which you perceive this information as this may be just the beginning of your experience as a part the world of the unique NMP.

Basically, this blog has been about the networked media production. The ways in which media has been utitlised and exploited to achieve a final production, for example; a message. In that, media of the internet has been exploited, such that the there are blogs, websites, data visualisation, geo-narrative, etc. All these have been put together so as to show the ways in which they can be coordinated to bring forth a message. The blog also points out that the technology has become in a way that it can be synchronised with the natural intelligence of human kind. This can be further said as, it has simplified things. This thus shows that there is a network that is formed between the two. For example; Google, acts a search engine. In that it helps human kind to find information faster and this information is also brought forward by human kind. Hence, they work together to achieve common goals, thus showing how it is a networked media production achieved.

Not only has the blog done the above, it has also helped me the writer to be able to air out my views and intellectual opinions on what networked media production is about and also try and enlighten the people that may read it, on what exactly it is all about, in a more interesting way. The essential about the blogs is that they can specify and concentrate on a specific topic, for example; my blog specifically talks about network media production, and all the factors that it is composed of. It also talks about ways in which one may be able to create some of the features of NMP for example; a web page and how it works and the theories and extra notes attached to it. This is what blog tend to be about, as they extenuate the whole concept of networked media production to create a sort of simplicity for the readers, so that they can learn or even build on that which they know.

On that note, I would like to nominate three blogs to be assessed. These are;
 Multiplicity

 About blogs

Rationale for Project B

For project B, I chose to do a geo-narrative on my home country, Uganda. This is because I found it to be an interesting topic to build a story around. However the story is fictional. It is about a basic boy meets girl story however, based in Uganda. The best twist to the story is, it is all a dream. She wakes up just when her future seems to look bright.

The technical process that I went through is, one has got to go to Google maps, create an account or sign in, go to my maps and start. There are lines that can be drawn to show the journey taken, placement marks that can be put there to possibly give a name to the place. When one clicks there, the creator can also write something about that place, and in the process create a story. I organised it in a way that the girl’s story, Sunshine comes first and then the boy’s story, Charming, comes after wards. This is because she is the main character of the narration and she is also the fictional creator of the narration, thus it all being a dream. It is also because it shall leave the readers engrossed in the piece.

For more information, look at; http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&q=the%20monster%20that%20ate%20australia&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

The cultural context of this work is that this gives the viewers a chance to know more about Uganda as a country. Not only in terms of the extent to which civilisation has happened, but also in terms to which are the cultures upholded. It can create curiosity, and thus eventually even create more tourists profits for the country. It also shall help people to know how to get round to some places in case they are looking for a place to get a meal, clothes, daily accessories, even for casual meetings, as well as partying.

This thus what I have shown in the geo-narrative. My project is thus different from other works in the field because is it more specific, and the places that are mentioned, as well as the food, and images are all original and real. Nothing is fictional apart from the storyline itself. There is a sense of vividness about it. It is centred on an ordinary life of a young lady, one day, and one time. All of the activities are as ordinary as any other.

In summary, this work can act as an analogy for a networked system. Taking the two people in the storyline for example; they do not know each other, but as a result of the a network system like the internet, people tend to meet. It makes the world a smaller and better place for people to survive and connect and interact with one another. In this city, there are many people, but there is always a chance for one to meet a familiar face. Just like the internet, there are so many people that use it, but there are social networks like facebook that make socialising possible with people all over the world using interent. The places that Sunshine and Charming go to can act as the social networking areas that people go to for a social life and then eventually, it is built on that. This thus shows that it is more or less a networked system of communication and media being shown in a simple way_geo-narraitve.

Datavisualisation

This is generally about the visual representation of abstract information. (This versus the depiction of physical artefacts) This means that maps, photos are not a part of datavisualisation because they have no start or end.

It is about exploiting our abilities as human beings to see things and we are using computers to help us to do this is, ie; colour, shape, patterns, movement, etc. Using visual wetware, we can see these things.

Datavisualisation is translation. Quantity is translated into colour, scale, shape, position, movement.

Datavisualisation gets interesting when you reveal correlations.

There is a difference between datavisualisation and info graphics, in that datavisualisation is done by computers while info graphics is done with more use of the human brain than technically.

Some problems are hard to datavisualise because of complex systems with non-linear responses to multiple inputs, ie; democracy, climate change, etc.

How it is done

· Find some data

· Think about how to do it algorithmically and translate the data. Use scale, colour, shape, position, movement.

· So that we can see correlations, connections, relationships.

· Exploration, make it interesting to find the data you’ve done put up.

· Layering-being able to layer things over each other to establish connections.

· Interactivity-relationship between data.

· Availability of data- show the data you were using.

· Comparison of data sets, for example; use of correlation.

Note

Correlation is not equivalent to Causation.

Multiplicity

In 1906, a man by the name of Francis Galton goes to a livestock fair and there he saw an intriguing contest. In this contest, an ox was on display and the villagers were invited to guess what the animal’s weight was, after it has been slaughtered and dressed. At that point, about 800 people attempted to guess the weight but not one hit the exact one of 1,198 pounds. However, the average of those 800 people that guessed came very close to it. They guessed; 1,197 pounds. After this, Galton thus came up with the concept of Correlation.

Sampling, multiplicity, discrete, continuous

Sample rate is 44,100 per sec

· Pixels – dpi

· Audio samples – kHz

· Frame rate – fps

Bandwidth insufficient?

· Fewer samples

· Better/more compression

Computers can do more and more things per second. As the computers get faster, the bandwidth increases.

Scale

Online, things scale a lot and when offline, they do no scale as much. Comparing websites, the scale of some websites like Google is too big, in comparison to most of the websites.

Iteration

Computers are good at doing the same thing again and again. They tend to follow a sequence that leads to a sort of repetition of data that is being processed, ie; 1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,etc, Fibonacci sequence of; F(n)=F(n-2)+F(n-1). The process of building something like this is called an algorithm. It is a logical way of getting from one point to another point.

Combinatorial explosion

It is where something is built and it turns out to be something considerably huge. It is common among video games, as the plot tends to build as the people keep playing it, ie; World of War Craft. If we are considering websites, Google is another good example for this, as it started out as online dictionary for university students, but it is presently the world’s best search website. It works in a way that one thing is typed in, and many links that link to even more information are provided. Hence page rank.

Collaborative filtering

This is where the information is filtered using techniques involving collaboration among multiple agents, view points, data sources, etc. eg.Amazon, Netflix, etc.

Crowd sourcing

A method used for getting something from multiple human beings, eg; 99 designs, mechanical turk-by Amazon, means artificial intelligence. A situation where there was a robot that used to be able to play chess back in the 1950’s, when technology was being exploited and being ventured into.

v The wisdom of crowds – this is a book by James Surowiecki. He was interested in how groups of people make great decisions. He points out that as individual humans, we are not good at making good decisions.

There are 4 things that he thinks are important;

v Diversity- of opinions that are drawn from a diverse range of things

v Independence – people’s opinions are not determined by the opinions of those around them.

v Decentralization – people specialize in whatever information they want to.

v Aggregation – put together people’s opinions and deciding what is more suitable.

Wikipedia

· Open source software

Anyone can download software and upload whatever they like. It also allows different perspectives and opinions and upgrades to be exploited and ventured into.

· Decision markets

You can bet on how things are going to turn out, ie; works well with Oscar winners, presidential elections, etc.

Dutch tulipomania, US dot-com bubble, Sub-prime mortgage crisis.

The value of a tulip ball was equivalent to the value of 12 acres of land.

As the price goes up, people jeep buying something with an aim of selling it in the future basing on the assumption that the price shall go up and they shall gain from it in the future, ie; shares. This can be shown by an upward sloping curve.

The tools that you use not only affect the turn-out of things but the possibility of that vision. ie; development of algorithms leads to an extension in the buildings, suburbs, cities, etc, that is in architecture.

An Idea for a website

This week during the tutorial, we were told to make small groups and come up with an idea for a website.

The idea that my group members and I came up with is a website that we solely named; thenightlife.com.au.

This website is mainly aimed at the youth in Australia today, in that if someone is coming from another state for example, and wants to get to know what is in stock for him or her in the night, in case he or she wants to go out for a drink or to a club, they can always rely on this website.

So this website is generally a means of marketing the bars and the clubs that each state has. In order for the bars and clubs to have their information displayed on this website, they shall have to pay a certain amount of money. As a promotional gig, we are planning to make the first month free and after that, failure to pay up shall lead to no exposure for that particular bar or club, or any other place that functions in the night and would want to be known to the public.

When looking at the collective intelligence, we are going to employ AJAX, flash, etc. In that, there shall be an obvious use of html, and the css so as to make the website as exciting and inviting, as well as javascript and xml. Flash shall also be used on the buttons that shall lead to the information for example so as to make the site more interesting, to also suite the whole ideology of a night life being searched for.

This website shall be using a sort of page rank in that, it shall have a main page, that a person can type in a club or bar and get information that shall lead to other information, kind of the way in which Google works. Hopefully, it shall have a strong network effect, in that the more the people use it, the more essential or useful it shall become.

We are also going to employ iteration, in that there shall be photos and videos that shall have be doing the same thing over and over again, for example, when one gets onto a certain pages, there shall be videos that shall play repeatedly, and one can choose whether to have sound or not, and also a photo stream of images of people at the places, as well as what the places look like.

There is also a possibility for this website to result into a sort of combinatorial explosion, as it starts off as something ordinary and leads to a variety of information.

Crowd sourcing is another thing that is definitely going to be employed in the website formation. According to the S.James’ book “The Wisdom of Crowds”, individuals are not good at making good decisions and usually rely on a sort of source to guide them to what they would accept as right. This website is taking advantage of this information and is thus helping people make decisions faster, and as easily as possible.

The website shall also accept reviews concerning the clubs and bars and this shall help the people in their decision making, and also to make it more or less a long term social network, though not like facebook or twitter.

This all thus explains how using collective intelligence/wisdom of crowds is different to, or should I say, better than, doing it in a centralized, controlled fashion.

The problems that we think might be encountered include;

· the fact that this may be too wide to achieve as successfully as planned

· it may be too hard to comprehend thus does not enhance rich user experience

· it is also mainly be aimed at the youth and thus does not extend its market range to the elders per say

· the clubs and bars might refuse to pay up, or even sign up, and thus shall lead to no or limited network effect

Web 2.0

Today we are going to look at web 2.0. It is something that a human being came up with as technology was driving up the development level.
It can more or less be defined as collective intelligence. My understanding of collective intelligence is that it involves a combination of programs so as to derive a finished product of that which you see today on a website for example.

Web 2.0 is about feedback, people communicating to and from people and a way in which there is a link between the technology and the people that use it. it involves the focus of simplicity, joy of use, AJAX, the long tail, affiliation, css-design, etc.

Before we had Google and Amazon then it advanced Wikipedia, eBay and now there are new platforms like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
(look up network effects on Wikipedia, aka Metcalfe’s law)
The more people that are connected the more effective and useful Metcalfe’s law is.

Page Rank
This is something that Google adopted when it was started in 1996 by pHd students in Stanford that wanted to make a sort of online dictionary. It works in a way that a person types in what they are looking for in the home page, and then it opens ups to a variety of links that may have an answer of a sort to that which is being looked for, and those links are also providing more links to related soruces, and it goes on like that. This is a way in which page rank can be understood simplest and one of the best examples is Google.
Long tail
This is something that has been adopted by Amazon. It tends to sell its books that maybe related to that which might have been there in the past or that is there presently. And this in a way manages to increase their market. For example, there was a book called “Touching the Void” that was being sold in Touching the Void” and it sold more than twice its original time because it was done on the assumption that the people that the market would be the same.
Thus the Amazon tends to sell more books in the long tail than in the head.

About some of the websites, like youtube provide video content of which this becomes competitive to the tv stations, facebook-over 20% of internet usage presently is using it and it has over 400 million people with it, twitter is a good example of present day collective intelligence. In that things happen on twitter much faster than it actually happens or even gets to be known.ie; an earthquake was gotten to be heard about in America before it actually happened.

AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript And XML) is one of the things that are used as leverage for the collective intelligence. In that it is more or less a combination of hyper text markup language (html), cascading style sheet (css), extensible markup language (xml), javascript.

AJAX is not technology, it more or less several technologies, each flourishing in its own right, coming together in powerful ways to create its final product.
Have a look at http://www.adaptivepath.com/ideas/essays/archives/00385.php .

Network effect- the more people that use the stuff, the more useful it gets.
Open data
Participation- providing a service, not a product encourages user contribution.
Rich user experience- easy to use
Re-mixability

My readers, you shall not have the experience of the unique NMP this week, because; there is no class this week. But brace yourselves for the next week. It brings good things.

Carving up the World.

This post is going to look at NMP in a different perspective again. I shall presume that the readers of this post shall be impressed by the amazing ability that NMP has when it comes to technology as you shall all get to know what its essence is, and the fun out of it too.

Structures

Of thinking end up making patterns.

Naturally, humans detect patterns, and this gives us the chance to name them and tell the difference between them all. This in the long run enables us, humans, to do our daily activities such as dress differently depending on the occasion. Sometimes, this is based on the cultures as well.

· So we have clothes

· Recipes-what is appropriate for what and what is not, and on what occasion.

· Music-scales, rhythm and melodies. What makes good music is the fact that the artists manage to play that which we expect and also the unexpected, hence people being able to have a taste in music, to like or not to like it.

· Interfaces- different ways in which things are made ie; technology like the phones, cars, elevators (a light goes on to the show you want to go up or down) unlike the crossing-the-road button in Australia, there is nothing that shows that the signal has been sent, so people tend to press it more than once for affirmation, websites, etc.

All conventions are special cases. Presently, the ways in which people dress now and in the past, driving on the left-AU, and right-USA, etc. Have a look at www.janchipchase.com

Affordances and limitations

One can define it as something that tells you something and lets you know more about something. Lets look at an example; knowing that the car is parked in the car park and not randomly, where ever you would like it to be. You can say it is that which we tend t cal basic knowledge of how things should be.

The internet has a different set of affordances and limitations and these include;

· Distance; no limitation to distance as information ca be sent over long distances, like chatting wit someone in Africa when you are in Australia. Unlike before when telegrams and letters were used, there was even a limitation to the amount of words that were written and it took a lot of time to get to its destination.

· (Physical) Scarcity; makes information accessible to all people, and thus is an advantage to the audience and a disadvantage to the companies that rely on this scarcity for business, like the media companies, ie; newspapers, musicians-free to download music, etc.

in summary, I would like to conclude by saying that it is sometimes useful to have conventions that you can follow.

Ontology

Is the study of what there is.

Taxonomy

When it comes to this, things are put into taxons. A taxon is a kind of distinction ie; plants and animals.

Heirachy

This is where there are categories that are more important than others.

Categoreis

This can be defined as a wa of grouping things. Things are often put in categories. Years back when Yahoo was practically the biggest internet company, it used to hire people to use the internet and then categorise what they can. They however had to stop as other companies came into business like Google that does it for a website.

Folksonomy

This is where some the things that we categorise can be classed as wrong or right and not just as they are.

The more flexible way so doing this is by using tags. Sets of tags can tell more or a lot of things. Tags allow things to be members of groups in lots of different ways.

There is something called a name tag and a machine tag, the difference is that a machine tag has got a namespace.

Eg; LASTFM:EVENT=613510

Namespace:predicate=value

ASTRONOMY:OBJECT=M83

MUSIC:BAND=M83

Namespace:predicate=value

Tags are flexible as they can handle a lot of stuff.

Saab Aero X-rationale

About the webpage
I created an online exhibition based on the medium of cars. I specifically chose the Saab Aero X as my area of interest. Probably is because of my love for cars, and also because this is one of my dream cars.

I shall give an insight on the technical processes that I took for me to get to this as my final piece.

Firstly, an html page has got to be created and in this page, one has got to have the open and close quotes so that the page is not left hanging other than that, the web shall not be able to read the information in it and transmit it into a webpage desired. For example; and the close is . If you notice there is a slash on the last quote before the code name. This is done for all the codes that are used for example, I used codes like , ,

,

, etc.

All the codes that have been applied send a message to the server to show it what to do, and thus things like a body is created, a heading is created, a division is created, a paragraph is made, and many others. Things like images use the codes like , and when a source (http link) is required for an image to be retrieved, the code is . Another scenario when the necessary codes are used is when one is trying to create spaces between the paragraphs and the lines within the paragraphs and this is the
code.

When one is trying to create a link in the webpage that is used, they can use things like link/name chosen. If you realize, there are forward slashes at the end of all the codes there is. Hence, showing that without them, this data cannot be read for it to be published by the Internet.

What is included in the web page
In my web page, you shall find various links to all different websites, and this is to create a wider insight on the car, an addition t the information that I have provided. For example; the example that the car was a basis for one of the transformer characters, Wheeljack in the movie, there is more information in the links provided to justify this information and properly explain it all.
The links are also another colour so as to blend in with the style of the sheet, and also they change colours when a mouse is run over them, and they also change colour when they have been clicked to their rightful links.

Speaking of links, the images themselves are links, and thus the information on this webpage is not plagerised, as it is all in a way referenced to its original source, including some of the information used, there is a link at the end of all the paragraphs so as to emphasis the validity of this information.

I managed to make a sort of image gallery, as they is a certain amount of opacity, hence they are transparent, as when the mouse is over the images, they are made clear and in the process, one can click on any of them for more information.

I also managed to include a you tube video and this is because it creates a more vivid idea on what the car is all about, its special features, attributes, as well as showing the ways in which it has bee marketed to the public.

At the end of the webpage, I also managed to create links, so that incase anyone is highly interested in the values of this car, they can access more information, and some of the information that is included includes the official website of Saab Aero X concept car.

And lastly, there is a link to my blog, to this information that you are reading presently at the extreme end.

What has been done
Using the style sheet, I managed to centre the picures, the words, as well as the whole page. There are also some sub headings to give an insight on what one is about to read, and thus, I have created a structure.

The reason as to why the back ground is as is, is because, I thought it suitable to the theme and idea of cars, considering the fact that it is a very technical and fast sports car, the background matches the idea that it can achieve all that has been said about it. It embodies the car’s true strength. The lettering is nothing extra ordinary however, it is bold and precise. This shows that the car itself is a statement without any extra “merry-mash” added to it.

There is a border around the information provided on the webpage and this is just to bring out the information more. It is a form of emphasis in a way, and also a means of separation of the text and images from the background.

In conclusion, the above is the rationale for the webpage you are going to view. Enjoy!

Mashups and API's and Javascript.

In this new update on the uniqueness of NMP, we are going to look at how the site works on the web.
When it comes to mashup, the information comes from different locations. We look at things as Dynamic pages=Databases. Pages which change for some reason.

When the database is trying t process so many requests, ie; when many people are logged onto a certain website, then the internet (server) slows down.

Javascript

This is the basis of making an html page.
Apparently, the Minister of Broadband, Communication and Technology is using javascript to filter the internet from the IPS.

API’s
These are about sharing of data, sharing functionality, and they also allow people to do things that were not envisioned before. For example; Flickr has a very good API www.flikr.com/services/api/. Twitter has been known to have a more of a public API.
API’s also help people to build stuff off a back up service, and also give us new ways of experiencing content.
API can also be used to piggyback, in that it can be used to create better things. This thus creates a basis of a sort for work to do.

Mashups
This helps to get to things and merge them, hence it is a way of combining services.

HTML and CSS

Well, here we are again. Ready to get to know more about the uniqueness of NMP.
Well, this time, we are looking at HTML, XML and CSS.

HTML is the Hyper Text Markup Language. Mark up language is a way of getting hyper text in a way that people can understand. It is the pre-dominant language for World Wide Web (www). In order for it to work, the text is put in between the tags. ie;content.

XML is the Extensible Markup Language. The main purpose of this is it can be used to scribe anything. It is built to be human and machine readable thus if you forget a small close, I breaks, and it does not make up for it like HTML does.

HTML is more or less a limited subset of XML. It can be used on every computer there is; unlike Flash- it is more intensive. The other reason as to why it is easy to use is because there was limited technological development, and this has thus made it easier for it to be used in the present day.

There are a variety of tags like the body tag-emphasizes what exactly is going to be shown on the web page, head tag-is for the heading, title tag, etc.

CSS allows one to separate the presentation from the HTML. This is also known as the style sheet. This is what everyone sees when they look at a website or a web page and they think it to have an impressive outlook, aka pretty. This work is all done in the style sheet, and a link an be done in the HTML so that the final web page has all the information that is required.
One style sheet aka CSS can ‘talk’ to a number of HTML pages.

Conclusion

This is just an outlook on what HTML, CSS and XML are and what they do. But for more information on how to make a web page of your own, have a look at www.3schools.com as it gives a more or less one to one tutorial on what to do with HTML and CSS and also XML.

About Blogs

Well, the one and only blog post that was promised is finally here. This is one is specially dedicated to blogs and all the information that is involved like privacy, copyright, censorship.

I would like to point out that a blog is the easiest, cheapest, fastest publishing tool ever invented. It is a bit of technology that has enabled people to have a voice that they did not have. It also allows you to put a diversity of information.

Blogging led to the introduction of disintermediation. This is where the intermediaries are taken out of the process . An extra explanation to this is; through the Internet, the blogs work, and Internet enables the famous people, even some politicians to get down to the level of the ordinary people and have conversations with them though chat programs like Facebook, Twitter, etc. a unique relationship can be built through this amazing facility.

A question is passed whether blogging is journalism or writing?! Well, an answer to that is the journalists do try to take advantage of this amazing establishment. As you can see there is a sort of network that is built through blogging as people try to air out their views. Through blogging, th journalists end up becoming more or less freelance, as the newspaper industries are dying out and the internet has replaced all of it, together with the services they provide.

I should point out that people tend to monetise their skills by blogging.

Blogs are mainly composed of texts, images, music, video, and all these can be inserted by the blogger.

Blogs create a blogsphere. A blogshere can be defined as a collection of blogs with honest opinions. These days, things tend to appear on the blogshere before they appear on the news. It is the non-edited version of information that is generally given to the public, as it covers the traditional version that the media cannot access.

www.technorati.com is a website that searches the blogshere. So this is for those that would love to get the news as honestly as can be and not the one that the media decides is most suitable for the audience/country men. I would like to think that this is not right, because the truth about situations ought to be known, especially when it comes to the welfare of a country and its people.

Some other things that would be interesting to know about this interesting topic, is the RSS- Really Simple Syndication. Syndication means the ability to have access to things or information. This however is a disadvantage to the bloggers as it reduces their chances to monetise.

Now here are some of the blog platforms that yu might be interested in when you try to start a blog of your own. – wordpress, - typepad, - blogger, - tumblr.

Some vital information

Privacy

First of all, one should know that writing itself is a way to expose oneself. However, when blogging, do not forget to consider the following:

· Where do you exist?

· Who owns the data?

· Can you get your data?

· Can you delete the data?

Copyright

· People have the right to own what they produce

· Every copy is perfect

· Whats intellectual property?

· Patents, trademarks, designs, copyright…

Trademarks assert the rights to use something in a particular way and also to stand out as a writer/blogger(in this case)

Censorship

· Limit people from seeing some of the information.

www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD/pc=PC90102

So I would like to conclude this by saying, is blogging the best way or the only way for an honest opinion of life's happenings to be known to the world at large?

Introduction

Here you all are to find out more about the uniqueness of NMP. Now this is probably the time when you wonder what NMP stands for. In full, it is Networked Media Production.

Networked Media Production has gotten to be known as the future for website designers, film producers, video producers, writers, musicians, etc, and how it is possible to take advantage of the new and improved ways of social networking. This has enabled all of us to promote our works of art using the variety of technologies that have been made accessible to us on the internet.

Now here comes some information that will thrill you, the fact that other people are using a network makes it useful, and this is called the Network Effect.

In 1945, a man, (or atleast i think this is a male name) called Vannevar Bush wrote a book entitled "As we may think". In the book he urged the scientists to make it more accessible our bewildering store of knowledge. This man is amazing, how he managed to write a whole book emphasising how people should think abit more. The question is, why didn't he start off and atleast give them a head start. (I am presuming that you know what I mean-wink-)

He then goes ahead to say that there have been technologies that have developed the physical powers rather than the powers of the mind. Regardless of the fact that the most that Bush did was to write a book, he did have a point that was registered somewhere in the mind of a human being that then decided to set up things like the internet, this is an extension f the mind's power and being able to blog, is also another way for the mind to use its ability to its fullest and express itself.

NMP also tells us that with the internet, there is a continuous communication process between the client and the server.

This is all for now...for more intriguing information about NMP, keep track of what comes next on this wonder blog!
